January on Maui

I probably shouldn’t announce this to the world but January is my favorite month in Hawaii. After New Years’, the holiday crowds return to the Mainland, the kids are back in school, the humpback whales are jumping out of the ocean everywhere you look, and the surf comes in at mythical heights. On top of this, the weather is just ridiculous. Can it get rainy in January? Yes, it can. But for the most part, our rainy season doesn’t really hit us until mid to late winter. Year after year, decade after decade of living here, early winter is just consistently beautiful on Maui. Lots of sun, light tradewinds, warm days, cool nights, and mild humidity. It’s just dreamy.

So here are a few pics that I shot over my favorite month taken with my iPhone. I hope you too had a nice start to this brave new year? We could all really use it. Sending lots of love and good vibes from the Mid-Pac. Much aloha…
